About the Founder

Dr. S.R. Jindal was born in 1933 in Haryana State and graduated from Calcutta University in 1956. Subsequently he was awarded Doctor’s degree in Naturopathy and also honorary Doctorate from the Tumkur University in the year 2010. He is the founder, Chairman & Managing Director of Jindal Aluminium Ltd. (JAL), with a turnover of more than 8000 million Rupees per annum. JAL is India’s largest aluminium extrusion producer meeting about 30% of the nation’s demand for extrusions.

Sensing the potential of wind energy, Dr. Jindal has set up through Jindal Aluminium Ltd., three wind energy farms having a total capacity of 12.04 MW at Chitradurga Dist. in Karnataka Dr. S.R.Jindal has unshakeable faith and outstanding love for the opulence inherent in nature. He has been practicing Naturopathy and Yoga from his young age, which made him establish the world renowned Jindal Nature Cure Institute at Bangalore. Dr. S.R.Jindal is a satvik person. He was able to transform a dream into reality where, without the use of drugs, latent nature’s potentiality in every human being is awakened resuscitating the lost health and vigour.

Dr. S.R.Jindal has deep commitment towards social causes, spends most of his time and income for various social and charitable activities which have blossomed into several charitable institutions in the field of education, health, social welfare etc. and is the founder of many charitable Trusts and Societies doing yeoman service to the community.

Since its inception in 1969 Sitaram Jindal Foundation has been granting/distributing scholarships to poor deserving students for carrying on their higher studies. Scholarship is granted for pursuing all the courses such as graduation, post-graduation, agriculture, veterinary science, computer science etc. Scholarship amount varies from Rs.400/- to Rs.1500/- p.m. depending upon the course of study. At present more than 10000 students from all over the country are availing scholarship from this Trust without any discrimination of caste, creed and colour.

Sitaram Jindal Foundation introduced Book Bank Scheme in 1991-92 and supplied valuable reference books worth Rs. 37 lakhs to nearly 250 colleges and polytechnics situated in rural areas all over India.

Jindal Aluminium Ltd./Sitaram Jindal Foundation so far instituted 42 gold medals in Universities/Colleges throughout the country, which gives encouragement to the students for achieving excellence in education. More such medals are being instituted every year.


PRAGUN JINDAL EDUCATIONAL ORGANISATION an associate of Dr. S R Jindal Group is set up with the sole object of imparting value based quality education to the rural poor. Jindal Public School has been rendering service in the field of education up to High School for the last 40 years. The rural poor students were deprived of higher education due to lack of colleges in the nearby areas. Having realised the social responsibilities to bridge the gap in offering continuous education to the rural poor up to college level, Pragun Jindal Educational Organisation started an Independent Pre-University College recognised in the year 2003 by Govt. of Karnataka, which offers courses in Science and Commerce streams.

The Pre-University College has been doing very well both in academics as well as other co-curricular activities. It has a track record of producing excellent results consistently since its inception. Many students are pursuing Medicine and engineering in some of the reputed institutions of India.

The Management has now started Jindal Degree College for Women, which will initially offer B.Com and BCA courses. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University and is recognised by Government of Karnataka. It has a well-stacked library, fully-equipped laboratories, spacious class rooms and sports facilities. The college aims at imparting value based quality education to build a career for rural students.
