ABOUT THE BOOK
Gender identity is a crucial issue in India, both among the elite, poor, and among the educated and the illiterates. The social stigma towards a specific gender, especially women and the LGBTQ+ community, is transforming over the years. Furthermore, media plays a vital role in transforming public opinion. Gender and media in this context refer to the role of media in communicating about the different gender identities and their issues. The second volume of the book Gender and Media: Critical Perspective introduces various dimensions of gender and provides new insight into the current issues. Different scholars across the country have presented their personal views in this book. Hence the book provides a multi-dimensional perspective.
